Traditional vs. Self-Publishing (Part 2)

Currently, as I work on Chapter 18, I feel like I can end the book in a satisfying way. From my research, self-publishing has matured and come a long way since its early days. However, the major drawback to self-publishing is that I will be responsible for all of the costs involved. Despite this, there are major benefits.

1-It seems relatively easy to get self-published and to make print-on-demand available.

2-If you have any inclination to start your own business, you can create your own publishing house.

3-Once you start selling, you can retain more of the profits.

As I stated earlier, the major drawback with self-publishing is that you have to do everything on your own. You have to edit, format, market, and distribute the book by yourself. Traditional and self-publishing both have their pros and cons, but at my age I did not want to wait around to get published. I also found the challenge of doing it all myself appealing. So, I decided in the end that I will self-publish my book.
